PHS class of '59 holds reunion years ago

Peabody High School class of 1959 held its 45th reunion over Memorial Day weekend.

Activities included a dinner and short meeting May 30 at Kingfisher's Inn. Letters were read from John Jacobs of Santa Claus, Ind., Sally Gaines Able of Perry, and Lynne Kottwitz Watts of Marion. Graduates and other classmates enjoyed visiting and remembering past events and teachers.

The class attended the Memorial Day dinner May 31 at the Brown building.

Out-of-state attendees were Loretta Scrivner Whipple of Shenorock, N.Y., Judy Thatch Wetzel of Wellsboro, Pa., Don Hess of Greeley, Colo., Lee Bullock of Keene, Texas, Gene Edmonds of Austin, Texas, and Pam Herbert Teaford of Union Star, Mo.

Attending from Kansas were Gary Mott and Janet Lackey Davis of Manhattan, Jo Ann Mellott Jost of Hillsboro, Lucy Winkley Schwart of Marion, Carol Bullock Harms and Shirley Wentworth Herbison of Newton.

Attending from Peabody were Jim and Marilyn Eberle Cox, Judy Claassen, Jean DeForest Smith, Eldon Britton, and Vic Strotkamp.
