PES students experience ITV classes
Recently fourth through sixth graders had the experience of a lifetime.
On Jan. 29 and 30 students participated in the new technology of ITV, otherwise known as interactive television. The youngsters used television to talk with other students from different schools and participate in fun and educational activities with other students.
Mrs. Glover's third grade class communicated with Mrs. Reinert's class at Herington on Jan. 29, did a fun quilting project, and discussed the days when the settlers came to the land.
Also on Jan. 29, Mrs. Wetta's fourth grade class did a graph project with Mrs. Dreiling's class from Herington.
On Jan. 30, Mrs. Weems's class communicated with NASA and did activities with the recent arrival of the Spirit on the distant planet Mars.
My opinion as a sixth grader was it was a once in a lifetime experience and I am looking forward to doing more of it in the future.
Kaitlyn Preheim, another sixth grader at PES, commented, "It was fun and I think the rest on my class enjoyed it too."
PES students would like to give a huge thanks to Green Bush Educational Resources who provided the equipment for the ITV.
Along with all the other recent technology in this day and age, ITV already is helping older students tremendously and I'm hoping they'll find even more uses for it in the future.
On Feb. 2 PES students, kindergarten through sixth grade were going to visit the Richardson Zoo in Garden City as an after-school activity, but it was to be re-scheduled because of the snow.
