Dinner guests of Betty Ireland Sunday helped her celebrate her birthday. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Ireland, Chris, Nick, Kimberlee, and Matt of Topeka, Wava Ireland of El Dorado, and Wanda Vaupel and Kate of Wichita.
Don and Twylah Nightengale were Friday evening visitors of Harold and Shirley Grinstead. Richard and Dolores Mann of Cedar Point were Sunday evening visitors.
Mary Jane Grimmett and Jean Everett were in Clay Center Monday to visit with Justin and Rachelle Grimmett and new baby son, Ethan Kelly. On their return home they visited with Tyson and Melanie Grimmett and Bethany in Marion.
Lucille Wyss visited Friday with Jean Louis at Lake Point Nursing Home in El Dorado.
Visitors of Orville and Joy Vannocker Sunday were Cherie, Marlin, and Shawn Satterfield, Pam Herzet and Quinn of Newton, Brad and Becky Vannocker of Hillsboro, and Melissa Parmley, Cody and Corin of Cedar Point.
Friday guests of Ray and Eleanor Davidson were Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Grimwood, Grant and Meghan of Eureka.
Twylah Nightengale, Ron and Kathleen Ludwig, Lenora Graham, and Ella Leeds attended the movie, "Passion of the Christ," Tuesday in Newton.
Ed and Tom Grimwood of Burns visited Sunday with Ray and Eleanor Davidson.
"Together We Can Make a Difference" Sunday is being observed by the Florence United Methodist Church. In April, the community's volunteer firemen were invited to the service and dinner following church. Balloons imprinted with "Firemen are our friends," and lapel pins were given to honor the firemen. The city's new fire truck was parked near the church.
