Peabody Super Swimmers win first meet of season

Peabody Super Swimmers claimed victory Saturday after a much delayed start to the season. With just one week of practice, the team had a tough challenge facing Marion and Hillsboro at Hillsboro.

Peabody scored 526.5 points for the victory. Hillsboro was second with 519 points, and Marion third with a total of 484.5.

"It turned out to be a close meet for all three teams," Super Swimmer head coach Laura Williams said. "We worked hard to make up points in the bracket where we have no swimmers. The kids never gave up, even when the distance events came late in the meet. Our swimmers were not in top condition to swim a full meet, but they held on for the win."
