Peabody Senior Citizen board discusses volunteers
Peabody senior citizens' board of directors met Tuesday.
After close of the January business meeting, officers discussed ways to encourage people to keep patronizing and volunteering at the center. Keeping the "Meals on Wheels" program is necessary for community shut-ins.
During the business meeting the secretary's report was given and thank you notes read from Carolyn Gard, Arlene Unruh, Elaine Martel, and Lynn Smith for Christmas gifts.
The treasurer reported a gift from Peabody United Methodist Church and the income from peppernut sales was given. Site manager Elaine Martel announced the North Central Area Agency leader would be Pam Gordon, taking Shirley Stittle's job.
Joanna Brazil, Peabody Main Street coordinator, presented the funds raised for senior center building repairs by the Victorian Revival Society. Appreciation was expressed for their outstanding efforts.
