Peabody police make drug arrests
Peabody police officers arrested John Schmeling Oct. 12 at Sharon's Korner Kitchen on a Marion County warrant for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
Chad Carr was arrested Oct. 15 at Peabody City Park on a Marion County warrant for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
On Oct. 16 two thefts were reported to Peabody police officers. During the previous night a semi-trailer truck parked at First and Sycamore streets was broken into and thieves took a DVD camcorder and compact discs worth $1,600.
Peabody Farm Services, 203 South Maple, also was broken into the same night. Stolen were the cash register, cash, candy, and various tools. A window to the business was broken to allow entry to the building.
Property at 105 West 1st Street was discovered damaged Oct. 17. Nothing was stolen, but $7,000 worth of damage was done.
Bob Marshall of Marshall-Avery Realtors also reported Oct. 17 that a real estate sign at 411 Maple had been stolen. A second sign at 510 Vine was damaged. The signs are valued at $40 each.
A report of theft and criminal damage to property was reported at 403 North Vine on Oct. 17.
Police also found a motorcycle abandoned on Peabody Street. The owner is unknown. It has not been reported stolen.
