Peabody police investigate theft, criminal damage

Peabody police are investigating two thefts from storage units at Doyle Creek Rentals on Sycamore Street. Chief Pohlman said the thefts were reported during the past two weeks, but one might have occurred some time earlier.

Police reports give no dollar amount on the merchandise involved, but Pohlman said some expensive items such as tools and televisions were taken.

The case is under investigation.

Police received a report May 1 of criminal damage in the 100 block of South Olive Street. Pohlman said someone had broken two street lights.

A hit and run at Harder Ag was discovered Sunday morning. It was determined to have happened between 1 and 4 a.m. A tractor-trailer rig apparently had pulled into the parking area in front of Harder Ag and backed into the corner of the building. There was extensive damage to the roof. Also, one of the poles supporting the roof over the walk-way surrounding the building was broken in two.

Police arrested Amber Litton, 18, of Peabody May 4 for DUI.
