Peabody police investigate check theft and forgery

On July 7 a theft report was taken on a business check stolen from Peabody Farm Services. Police are conducting an investigation and theft and forgery are involved. Peabody Farm Service employees reported that several people were in the business and had the opportunity to steal the blank check. It was made out for $717.32 and cashed.

Theft of tools from the yard at 609 N. Poplar was reported to police July 14.

Ricky Hill, 18, was arrested July 14 on a Marion County warrant for aggravated burglary. While arresting Hill, officers found a methamphetamine pipe in his pocket. Hill was charged with possession of methamphetamine and paraphernalia and taken to Marion County Jail.

On July 14 officers took a report of a runaway juvenile. The following day the juvenile was arrested, taken to Juvenile Intake, and placed with SRS.

Also on July 14 two juveniles were arrested for theft. They also were removed to Juvenile Intake.

Police took a report July 16 of criminal damage to property at 211 N. Locust.

Police responded Saturday night to numerous complaints of loud music at 501 N. Maple. After officers stopped twice at the residence and continued to receive complaints from as far away as two blocks, Justin Soukup of the residence was arrested. Soukup was drunk and refused to turn down the music. He was arrested for disorderly conduct and taken to Marion County Jail.

Peabody police shot and killed a raccoon Sunday at 107 N. Vine. The animal was behaving in an erratic manner and did not appear to be healthy according officers.
