Peabody police investiage vandalism reports

In the weeks before Christmas, the Peabody Police Department received several reports of vandalism and criminal damage to property. Many of the reports involved Christmas decorations. They currently are being investigated.

Police Chief Jeff Pohlman noted that his office took three reports of criminal damage to property from the residence at 204 North Sycamore in a one week period. The decorations in front of the home are large inflatable holiday figures. They were punctured with a sharp object.

At 112 South Maple, someone spray painted the side of a car with silver paint.

The resident at 201 North Maple had the rear window of a vehicle and the rear door to the home shot with a BB gun.

Christmas decorations at Santa Fe Park were damaged, strings of lights cut, and extension cords stolen.

Several homes on the west side of Peabody also called in complaints of cut light strings and smaller decorations stolen from displays.
