Peabody Methodist church welcomes new minister
The Rev. David Ragland will begin his pastoral duties July 16 at Peabody United Methodist Church.
Ragland has served as pastor for the past 25 years at United Methodist churches at Paradise and Waldo in Russell County, and most recently at Pretty Prairie United Methodist Church.
He earned a bachelor of arts degree in psychology in 1977 from Wichita State University, and a master of divinity degree in 1981 from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.
He has been married to Katherine for 30 years and has two children — Leah Bengfort, 25, Gardner, and Jeremy, 21, a student at Wichita State University — and two grandchildren.
The Raglands have moved into the parsonage and will be on a mission trip to Russia the first of July.
