Peabody Memorabilia Auction is Saturday

Peabody Main Street is busy preparing for the Peabody Memorabilia Auction, a classic Peabody event and fund-raiser, on Saturday at the American Legion.
Tickets for the tasty steak dinner which precedes the auction at 6 p.m. are selling out. If you don't have your ticket for the dinner, now is the time to get them! Tickets are $10 and are available at the city building until they sell out. No tickets are necessary to attend the auction which begins around 7 p.m.
Items of all kinds are pouring into the Main Street office, and we thank everyone who has contributed these unique, one-of-a-kind gifts. From the "to-die-for desserts" by famous Peabody chefs to Peabody memorabilia, the community has stepped up to offer goodies that are must-haves for auction goers.
Many local and talented craftsmen and artists have submitted fabulous pieces including hand-crafted grills, stained glass, woodwork, a decorative wreath, paintings, ceramics, quilts and blankets, embroidered towels and aprons, even a log cabin bird feeder. Memorabilia items include photos, PHS memorabilia, Peabody State Bank and Harder Metal Products anniversary coffee mugs, DeForest Blue Blood Chix canvass sign, a statue from Tom's Pattern Shop, and postcards.
Becky Ediger has sent jackets, pens, and sweatshirts from the United States Secret Service.
Peabody businesses have submitted some of their signature items including Sharon's Korner Kitchen's famous salsa, Prairie Oak Alpaca's soft alpaca items, a smoker-grill large enough to smoke at least three turkeys from Mackey and Sons, a discount certificate for a Golden Fox building from GMLS Industries, one hour therapeutic massages by Shirley Davis, flash glass antiques from the Mayesville Mercantile, a year's web hosting service from Shane Marler, and a gift certificate for 15% off purchases from Jackrabbit Hollow for a year, among others.
Entertainment packages also will be available including a plane trip for two to the Beaumont Hotel for a prime rib dinner, a gourmet soup of the month, a smoked meat (quarterly), a two-hour guided horse ride for two complete with picnic lunch, and dinner for two every month at Sharon's Korner Kitchen. See our ad for a list of more auction items.
Wonderful items continue to pour into the Main Street office, and if you are interested in donating a unique and fabulous item, PMSA will happily accept! Contact Susan Marshall, Joanna Brazil, or Steve Hamous or drop it off at the city building.
Proceeds benefit projects of the Peabody Main Street Association, a 501c3 non-profit organization working to ensure that Peabody continues to grow and thrive while preserving its historic character through community involvement.
