Peabody Main Street Association rewrites vision statement
Peabody Main Street Association is announcing the revision of the downtown vision statement.
Through collaborative efforts, community support, and pride, downtown Peabody will be a well-preserved historic district with additional shopping and dining opportunities by 2012. Public meeting space, bathrooms, and lodging will be available, and an active cultural events calendar will be in place, making Peabody a regional destination.
The final meeting for the downtown vision planning was June 12, and was facilitated by Mary Helmer, assistant coordinator of Kansas Main Street Association.
The new vision statement addresses specific goals of the organization for the next five years. The visioning process allows the organization an opportunity to brainstorm "outside the box." This process opens minds and stimulates great conversation about the potential of the downtown area.
