Peabody church to hold dinner

Peabody United Methodist Church outreach committee will serve a ham roll dinner at 11:30 a.m. Sunday. The community is invited to attend. Proceeds from the free-will donation dinner will be used to support mission projects.

Support this past year went to the food trailer from Hutchinson which was sent to Louisiana and Mississippi disaster areas to feed workers and families.

Donations were sent for tsunami relief, flood buckets were filled with cleaning supplies, and personal bags were given to disaster victims.

An outreach donation also will be given to the firemen's fund to purchase a heat-imaging gun for the Peabody community.

Donate items for needy

The church's outreach committee also is collecting good, clean, usable clothing, bedding, bath towels, and curtains for needy families in the Wichita area. The church basement is open weekday mornings to receive donations.

More than one and one-half tons of donated items were given in 2005 by the Peabody community.

Donated items are distributed by the Klothes Kloset at Wichita. This past year more than 14,000 families benefited from this endeavor.
