Peabody church assists people in need

Spring has finally arrived and it is time to pull out your summer clothes. During the month of April the Outreach Committee of Peabody United Methodist Church will host its annual used clothing and bedding drive.
Donated items may be left at the church basement weekday mornings in April. Good used bedding, curtains, and bath towels always are needed.
The donations will be taken to the Klothes Kloset in Wichita. Families may visit once a month and pick out a sack of clothing for each family member at no charge.
The outreach committee also has completed a new cookbook using favorite recipes from three previous cookbooks as well as new recipes. The cookbook contains about 700 recipes, printed in large type for easy reading.
When publishing costs are covered, proceeds will be used for mission projects in the Peabody community and other areas.
Mission projects also will benefit from a special ham roll dinner at 11:30 a.m. Sunday.
