PBJH football team wins second game

The Tomahawks claimed their second victory of the season Thursday. They defeated Canton-Galva, 30-6. Up next is a road game Thursday at Bennington.
The Tomahawks scored on the first drive against Canton-Galva. Starting at their own 46-yard line, the team drove the field to the Canton-Galva 24. Storm Pickens connected with Trevor Foth on a pass play to the end zone for the Tomahawks score. Jason Wingert earned the two-point conversion and PBJH took the 8-0 lead with 6:25 left in the first quarter.
PBJH defense held Canton-Galva on the next two series. Joseph Lopez recovered a fumble on the first series and the defense forced a punt on the second.
Tomahawk offense started the next series at the Canton-Galva 15. With 1:26 in the first quarter, Caleb Hilliard ran 10 yards for the score. The PAT failed but the Tomahawks were up 14-0.
Canton-Galva scored on a 40-yard pass play but the PBJH defense stopped the conversion attempt. At 6:42 in the second period, the Tomahawk lead was 14-6.
After the half, Thane Hurst set up the PBJH offense at mid-field with the recovery of a short kick-off. Pickens scored for PBJH on a five-yard run. Pickens hit Hilliard on a two-point pass play and the Tomahawks took a big lead, 22-6.
A bad Eagle snap gave the Tomahawks a short field on their last scoring drive. Starting at the Canton-Galva 27, Pickens connected again with Foth for a touchdown. Clint Jones added the two-point conversion and the Tomahawks claimed victory, 30-6.
