PBJH band, choir compete in music festival
The Peabody-Burns Junior High School band and choir traveled March 6 to Goessel for the Heart of America League junior high music festival.
The band performed "Portsmouth Overture" and "Variations on a March Tune" and received a I rating.
Several sixth grade band members performed with the junior high band.
The junior high choir received a I- rating for its performance of "Sing with Jubilation."
The junior high girls' ensemble performed "Rhythm of the Rain" and received a I rating.
The choir and girls' ensemble were accompanied by Julie Wedel. A percussion ensemble also played with the ensemble.
Those receiving I ratings were Taylor Ensminger, French horn and voice; Trevor Foth, baritone saxophone; Sarah Hofkamp, voice; Nick Morgan, snare drum; and Jordan Riggs, snare drum (I-).
Others included Jenipher Huls, flute, 2+, voice, 2-; Brody Kyle, trumpet, 2+; Bethanny Loucks, flute, 2+, voice, 2-; Amy Wedel, flute, 2+; Katie Lewis, voice, 2; and Jason Wingert, snare drum, 2.
