PBHS volleyball team comes up empty

PBHS Lady Warriors lost two matches Tuesday. They were defeated by Goessel 13-25 and 15-25. They also lost to Berean 16-25, 25-23, 22-25. The Lady Warriors travel to Remington next.

In the first game against Goessel, the Lady Warriors trailed by one, 3-4, but then the Bluebirds took off on a seven point run. The PBHS squad lost the game, 13-25.

Game two was more competitive with the Lady Warriors even at 3. The Bluebirds attack at the net hurt the home team and PBHS lost the game 15-15 and the match.

The Lady Warriors trailed again in the first game with Berean. They pulled to within four 7-11, but couldn't slow the Berean assault and lost the game 16-25.

Game two of the match looked different as the battle of the two Warrior teams was all even several times, including a tie-up at 23. Becky Morris had several key kills. Jessi Hilliard and Tabitha O'Neal added aces. Three Berean errors gave the Lady Warriors the game, 25-23.

In game three, the Lady Warriors took the early 3-0 lead. They stretched the lead to five, 7-2. The Berean squad came back to tie the game at 12 and move ahead of the home team 12-17. Morris had a kill at point 18 to bring the Lady Warriors to within one. Hilliard had a kill to put the teams even at 19. The Lady Warriors were close at 22-23, but PBHS could not close the gap and lost the game 22-2, and the match.
