PBHS seniors become state scholars

Peabody-Burns High School is proud to announce that six students have completed the Kansas Board of Regents State Scholar Curriculum. All of the students have completed four years of English; three years of natural science including biology, chemistry, and physics; four years of math; three years of social sciences; one year of computer technology; and two years of the same foreign language.

The PBHS students have been submitted to the pool from which the state scholars are chosen.

Criteria for selection includes ACT scores, completing the above listed curriculum, seven semester cumulative grade point average, and be graduating in the 2001-2002 school year. The academic profile for the state scholars who were funded in 2001 included a 29 ACT score and an average GPA of 3.89.

PBHS students are Erin Cox, daughter of Laurie and Randy Cox; Emily Langenegger, daughter of Daytha and Glenn Langenegger; Jared Lopez, son of Jenny Lopez and Rick Lopez; Rob McVey, son of Sandra and Bob McVey; Deanna Partridge, daughter of Tina and Paul Partridge; and Daniel Unruh, son of Doris and Harlin Unruh.
