PBHS plays host to HOA cross country league meet

Peabody Park was the finish line for the Heart of America League cross country meet Thursday, as the Peabody-Burns High School boys' cross country team took second and earned three medals.

The girls' team finished in sixth place.

Andrew Topham took top honors in the 5K race with a time of 17 minutes, 31 seconds. Duane Unruh finished seventh with a time of 19:59. Jacob Wolf came in 11th with a time of 20:12.

Other finishers were Robert Rossberg 16th, Ryan Wiebe 17th, Kendall Wiebe 24th, Seth Methvin 39th, Ethan Riggs 42nd, Jesse Riggs 45th, Dane Lau 54th, and Joe Zappone 58th.

The top racer for the girls' two-mile race was Alyssa Carter at 16th with a time of 14:37.

Ashley Elliott finished 26th, Jennifer Schmeling came in 33rd, Jacqueline Benjamin 41st, Samantha Pickens 38th, and Erica Frederick finished 49th.
