PBHS harriers earn dual runner-up awards

Peabody-Burns High School cross country team earned dual runner-up awards Thursday at the Heart of America League meet at Harvey County East Lake.
Both squads earned plaques for their winning efforts. PBHS also had six individual medal winners in the competition.
Andrew Topham came in first, covering the 3.1-mile course in 16:48. Duane Unruh finished 14th with a time of 18:58.
Also running in the boys' squad was Jacob Wolf 17th, Nicholas Whitney 18th, Derek Benson 21st, Maximilian Stralka 25th, and Christian Bengtsson 26th.
Tiana McGee led the girls' team with a third place medal. McGee ran the two-mile course in 13:19. Kate Topham finished fourth at 13:33. Ashley Elliott ran ninth at 14:00 and Alyssa Carter was 14th with 14:21.
Also running for the girls were Stephanie Vetter 24th, Samantha Pickens 29th, and Anna Zappone 31st.
