PBHS golf team wins Desert Classic

The Peabody-Burns High School golf squad captured a team victory April 10 on their home course.
The six-man team of Jake Watts, Brian Wingert, Joseph Zappone, Anthony Jones, Thomas McGee, and Oliver Whitney scored 257 points and came in at the top of the six-team field.
Yates Center was second with 278, Chase County, third with 283; Chase, fourth, 312; Riley County, fifth, 320; and Remington, sixth with 377.
Joseph Zappone led the Warrior crew with a score of 37 and a first-place medal. Wingert medaled at fourth, shooting a 40. Watts was eighth with a 41. Jones and McGee tied for 10th with a 45.
Curtis Frederick led the junior varsity, shooting a 49.
