PBHS forensics students participate in regional competition
Several qualify for state
Peabody-Burns High School forensics squad members participated Saturday in the regional tournament held at Rose Hill High School.
Four students received "I" ratings, which qualifies them for state forensics competition May 1 in Newton and Wichita.
Students receiving Is were Katy Schmidt, prose interpretation; Jesse Riggs, humorous solo acting; Anna Zappone, humorous solo acting; and Sandra McLeod, serious solo acting.
Also competing at state will be Anna Zappone and Oliver Whitney, who qualified for state in improvised duet acting during an earlier tournament.
Students receiving IIs were Holton Middleton, poetry interpretation; Laura Hoffman, prose interpretation; Jacob Wolf, humorous solo acting.
Ruth McLeod and Sherilyn Hill, duet acting; Chloe Boley and Holly Faunce, duet acting; Laura Hoffman, humorous solo acting; Anna Zappone and Oliver Whitney, improvised duet acting; and Chloe Boley and Holly Faunce, improvised duet acting.
Students receiving III's were Virgillia Stevenson, prose interpretation; and Holton Middleton and Micah Hilliard, improvised duet acting.
