PBHS class of 2004 graduates years ago

Peabody-Burns High School class of 2004 graduated Sunday afternoon with a gymnasium full of friends and family to wish them well.

Commencement exercises included the PBHS band playing the processional and recessional. PBHS Voices provided special music. A slide show also was presented by the class of 2004.

Honorary high school diplomas were awarded to two area veterans, Glenn Nellans and Rudy Newfield, in accordance with Operation Recognition.

Valedictorian Jeconiah Spangler and salutatorian Michael Unruh addressed the near-capacity crowd.

Katy Schmidt and Caleb Good were given the Kansas State High School Activities Association Citizenship Award.

Each member of the class of 2004 was recognized by Principal Mary Brown and greeted by Superintendent Tom Alstrom. Diplomas were given to the graduates by USD 398 board members James Hoffman and Bill Spangler.

Many scholarships were awarded to the class of 2004. They include:

Alumni scholarship — Caleb Good, Blythe Weri, and Jana Windsor.

George E. Trimple Trust — Jeconiah Spangler, Michael Unruh, and Marie Unruh.

Letha Eberle Award — Elizabeth Brown, Sandra McLeod, and Shannon Welsh.

Alumni dance — Jana Windsor.

Mary Josephine McCreary Memorial — Michael Unruh, Marie Unruh, Adam Carroll, Caleb Good, Sandra McLeod, and Jeconiah Spangler.

Burns Lions Club — Lydia Wolf.

George Holm Memorial — Stacy Griffith.

Kiwanis Award — Jeconiah Spangler.

Kiwanis Service Award — Katy Schmidt.

Barrett, Masonic and Farr — Stacy Griffith.

Fitch Memorial — Adam Carroll.

Heart Memorial — Kelli Swenson.

Fred and Teresa Burdorf Award — Lydia Wolf.

Jensen Award — Amber Langenegger.

Gephart Award — Rachel Unruh.
