PBHS boys cross country team takes second at Marion meet

Peabody-Burns cross country team traveled Thursday to Marion. The boys' team finished second, led once again by Andrew Topham. He finished first in the 3.1-mile race with a time of 16:54.

Duane Unruh was next for the Warriors in ninth, and Jacob Wolf claimed a 12th-place medal.

Robert Rossberg also brought home a medal for 15th, and Ryan Wiebe earned the final varsity medal, finishing 20th. Jesse Riggs came in 58th.

Kendall Wiebe led the junior varsity team, with a time of 21:43. Also running JV was Ethan Riggs, Seth Methvin, Dane Lau, and Joe Zappone.

The girls' team placed fifth overall and was led by Alyssa Carter, taking ninth in the 2-mile race with a time of 13:24.

Ashley Elliot grabbed a 16th-place medal and Jennifer Schmeling was 19th.

Jacqeline Benjamin finished 38th, Samantha Pickens 48th, and Erica Fredrick, 50th.
