PBHS band competes at College of the Ozarks
Band earns I rating for performance
Members of the Peabody-Burns Warrior band were in Branson, Mo., May 2 to 4, to participate in the 30th annual Ozark Mountain Country Band, Choral, and Orchestra Festival. The educational festival was held on the College of the Ozarks campus at Point Lookout, Mo., near Branson.
Elementary through high school musicians and vocalists from all over the country converged on the campus for the festival. Forty-one PBHS band members, their director Steven Glover, sponsors, and parents made the trip.
More than 7,000 students, parents, and sponsors attended this year's festival.
The Peabody-Burns band received a I rating for their performance. The group performed its contest numbers, "Morris Dance" and "Into the Storm."
Following their performance, students were privileged to receive some instruction time from Dr. Thomas Stidham of the University of Kansas.
In addition to enjoying the music festival, band students had a good time at some of Branson's entertainment spots, including the Dixie Stampede, Ride the Ducks, Silver Dollar City, and Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum.
