PBES students read to principal
Peabody-Burns Elementary School students have begun a new program, "I Read to the Principal."
Principal Ken Parry had the opportunity to read a book to each kindergarten student.
Students in grades one through six demonstrate their reading skills as they read to him.
Posters were placed in the school library with each student's
name and the name of the book they read to Parry.
"This is a great program because it allows me the opportunity to spend time with each student in a positive atmosphere and places a special emphasis on reading," said Parry.
Following each session, Parry mails a postcard to the student's parents informing them of their child's achievement.
