Paul was born Nov. 16, 1923, in Moundridge. In his teens, he moved with his family to the Burns area, where he met Leta Mae Ott. He married her on June 15, 1947. They celebrated 50 years of marriage before Leta's death in 1998. Paul continued to farm into his 70s and was well-known for his dry sense of humor and for his battered pickup. He followed an adage he learned during the Depression — Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without.
Paul is survived by 12 children, six by birth and six by marriage: Ed and Patty Stucky, Wichita; Marilyn and Martin Norris, Newton; Rocky and Mary Stucky, Sabetha; Steve and Sandy Stucky, Burns; Pam and Randy Tennyson, Andover; and Gwen and Roy Belmont, Wichita; 12 grandchildren: Brad, Valerie, Natalie, Dena, Kara, Jacob, Travis, Devin, Kaitlin, McKenzie, Jason, and Adam; two great-grandchildren; Brynnan and Jaden (a third is expected this spring); and five brothers and one sister, all of Kansas. We'll miss him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Leta; one son, Alan Ray; one grandson, Alex Norris; his parents, Peter and Ida J.C. (Gehring) Stucky; and three brothers, Jonas, Samuel, and Phillip Stucky. As we said goodbye, they welcomed him home.
