Paul Hegle

Paul W. Hegle, 79, of Herington, died Oct. 30, 2005.

Born July 18, 1926, at Lost Springs, he was the son of William and Edith Hegle.

He was a graduate of Lost Springs High School class of 1944 and served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He retired in 1991 from the City of Herington, after more than 32 years employment.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Herington, and a 60-year member of American Legion Post #45, Junction City.

On June 16, 1951, he married Dian J. DeBus at Fremont, Neb.

Survivors include his wife, Dian; three daughters, Cindy Floyd of Herington, Kim Erickson of Salina, and Tracy Gilbert of Clermont, Fla.; brother, Weldon Hegle of Bolivar, Mo.; two sisters, Iola Schroeder of Topeka and Arlene Straub of Kansas City; four grandchildren; a step-granddaughter; five great-grandchildren; and a step-great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, Herington, with the Rev. Victor Force officiating.

Burial with military honors will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Herington.

A memorial fund has been established with the church.
