Pastor Ted Osgood to retire

The Rev. Ted Osgood, who grew up at Florence, will retired as a clergyman at the annual conference of the United Methodist Church in West Virginia.

After graduating from Florence Memorial High School, he attended Southwestern College, Winfield, and for two years while a student also pastored at Dexter.

He graduated from Ashbury Theological Seminar in Kentucky and also served as a youth minister.

He served as a pastor of eight years, 1966-74, in Indiana, followed as chaplain at a Navajo Mission School in New Mexico.

He transferred to the West Virginia Conference in 1976.

Pastor Osgood has numerous awards, commendations, and memberships. He has been especially active in Kiwanis.

He is president of the West Virginia Asbury Fellowship.

Following his retirement, he will continue as chaplain for Marketplace Ministries at Moorefield, W.Va., where he resides, and be a member of the staff of a funeral home where his wife is a musician.

He is the son of Cleo and the late Jesse Osgood of Florence. His wife, Sandy (Wilkerson) is an artist and musician. They have two children and two grandsons.
