Parkside Homes: Residents enjoy surrey rides at Hillsboro

Dave Clark took the residents on a surrey ride around Hillsboro Tuesday morning. A surrey ride around Hillsboro Friday afternoon showed several people setting up for the craft fair.

Parkside resident council met Monday afternoon to discuss current issues. Residents were encouraged to drink more water and to encourage others to drink water to stay healthy.

The Parkside Dominoes group played a number of games Tuesday afternoon. Ike Thiessen, Dave Classen, and Art Wiebe had the high scores. Fresh banana bread was served during the games.

We had sensory groups and crafts groups Wednesday morning and a number of residents enjoyed relaxing in the music chair and visiting in small clusters. Pastor Fenstermacher brought the afternoon Bible class. Chocolate ice cream was served after the Bible class.

Carla Koslowsky played piano Thursday for the weekly hymn sing. Residents were invited to enjoy a variety of music and activities in other areas within the building. The arts and crafts video from year 2000 was shown in the afternoon.

Bingo games were called on Friday by Mariann Unruh. Each player received a banana for participating. The blackout winners were Ike Thiessen, Kaethe Warkenten, and Sarah Friesen. The weekend trivia paper was delivered to all residents.

Theater popcorn was served Saturday afternoon.

Gene Magnuson taught the morning Sunday school class. St. John Lutheran Church was in charge of the afternoon worship service.
