Officers assist EMS crews with calls
Marion police officers assisted Marion ambulance crews this past week with numerous transports.
July 11: Officers responded to the 200 block of North Lincoln Street to assist an emergency medical services crew. Assistance was provided to Hillsboro Police Department with a domestic violence call involving a firearm. A lost wallet was returned to its owner. An EMS crew was given assistance with a call in the 600 block of South Freeborn Street. Traffic control was provided for a medical helicopter. Assistance was provided to a citizen locked in a vehicle. An intoxicated person was removed from a premises in the 300 block of West Main Street at the property owner's request. An officer attended training at Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center.
Tuesday: Response was given to a fire alarm at St. Luke Hospital. A dog complaint was investigated in the 400 block of South Freeborn Street. Marion Fire Department and an officer responded to a vehicle fire in the 100 block of South Coble Street. An officer attended training at KLETC.
Wednesday: EMS crews were provided assistance in the 500 block of West Santa Fe Street and the 600 block of Walnut Street.
Thursday: A reckless driving report was made by a citizen and investigated. An investigation was conducted regarding an accident that occurred on private property. A subject was transported out-of-town after being released from Marion County Jail.
Friday: A vehicular accident was investigated in the 100 block of South Cedar Street. Vehicle identification number inspections were conducted. Assistance was provided in the 100 block of South Cedar Street to an individual looking for a subject who was upset with a family member.
Saturday: An officer assisted a motorist with a flat tire.
Sunday: Cones were reset at Lawrence and North Cedar streets. Response was provided to an individual with keys locked in a vehicle at Marion Baseball Complex; a local business was contacted to unlock the vehicle. A civil process was served. An officer responded to a fight on West Santa Fe Street.
Officers drove 1,629 miles. No warnings or citations were issued, and no arrests were made.
