Northwest of Durham: Community mourns death of Dorman Becker

Everyone was shocked to hear the news that Dorman Becker, lifetime resident of the community, died late Saturday evening. Memorial services were held Wednesday. The community extends their sympathy to Mary Helen and family.
Lola Redger and Marcella Unruh attended the funeral services Friday afternoon for Dwight Henne at the Roxbury church.
Merlin and Karletta Wiebe and family had dinner Sunday with Harry and Lela Wedel.
Richard and Kathy Dirks and Eugene and Wanda West had supper together Friday evening at Main Street Café, Durham.
Clayton and Betty Wiebe entertained their family for supper Nov. 14 to help Dallas and Dayna Wiebe celebrate their fourth birthdays.
Ransom and Lillian Wiebe went to Hillsboro Thursday for the funeral of Clarence Hiebert.
Richard and Kathy Dirks went Sunday afternoon to visit Don and Joyce Weinbrenner.
Clayton and Betty Wiebe invited Marcel and Wendy Unruh and Joel, Irvin Isaac, Henry Redger, Ken and Sandy Wiebe, and Wayne and Lorlee Wiebe and family for Sunday dinner.
Some of those who went to Versailles, Mo., over the weekend to attend the Sunday wedding of Lydia Strunk to Tyson Loewen of Glenn, Calif., were the Ransom Wiebes, Wendell Wedels, Harry Rhodes, Nelson Wiebe family, Doyle Wiebe family, Jarold Koehn family, Jason Wiebe family, Bryan and Rebecca Thomas, and some of the Morning Star Youth. Lydia taught school last year at Cottonwood Grove School. Ransoms, Doyles, Jasons, Bryans, and Harrys were Saturday supper guests of the Dennis Unruhs. Harry and Sheryle and Ransom and Lillian were overnight guests of the Stanton Unruhs.
Rachel and Marcus Koehn, granddaughter of Ransom Wiebes from California, visited relatives here this past week and were houseguests of her sister, Rebecca and Byron Thomas. They also went to the wedding in Missouri.
Christmas party planned Sunday at Tampa Senior Center
The annual Tampa Christmas party will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Tampa Senior Center.
Those attending will enjoy caroling and bingo. Santa's helper will be on hand to visit with children and distribute a bag of candy, furnished by Tampa Lions Club, to each child.
Everyone is asked to bring a snack to share.
A silent auction will be held to benefit the city park. Donations are welcome. Everyone is encouraged to bid.
Trivent will have matching funds for proceeds from the auction.
