Nine students earn medals at Marion meet

Competing Saturday with students from 11 other schools, nine Peabody-Burns forensics students placed at the Marion Invitational Forensics Tournament.

Maex Sammet took second in humorous solo acting, Sandra McLeod took third in serious solo acting, and the team on Jeconiah Spangler and Ricky Hill placed fifth in duet acting.

Three sixth place medals were awarded to the following: Eve Benyusova, poetry interpretation; Jesse Riggs, humorous solo acting; and Krystal Brown and Trinitie Anderson, duet acting. Krystal Brown also took eighth place in serious solo acting.

Other students representing Peabody-Burns High School were Frankie Stevenson, Katy Schmidt, Holly Faunce, Jade Garcia, Anna Zappone, Ashley Elliott, and Charity Gwinup.

The forensics squad takes a breather for the next week as it prepares for the Heart of America League meet March 10 hosted by Sedgwick.
