Nice to hear from ya!

This issue of the Peabody Gazette-Bulletin contains our second Main Street newsletter. Again, it is going to as many PHS and PBHS alumni as we are able to find. I confess I am much more confident about this one getting to you than I was the last one. And I think we have solved the problem of multiple copies cramming your mailboxes. My apologies for that. Hopefully all of you who ended up with three or four newspapers have bird cages to line.

The biggest surprise was hearing from so many of you! We got letters, cards, and phone calls from people all over the country. If space permits, we will print some of your comments in this issue. It was fun for me to hear from people I've never met, but whose names come up from time to time in the "remember when" conversations at the coffee shop. (Yes, your classmates do remember you and regale us often with your exploits. I'll leave it to you to figure out which tales they are telling!)

We got dozens of address corrections and personal updates so the Peabody High School Alumni Association. will have a better handle on where you are. They are quite pleased. That was one of the big challenges of that first issue. It will be an ongoing process, but more easily managed now that the initial work is done.

Peabody Main Street, the Fourth Fest Society, and the historical society received some much-needed support. And the Peabody Gazette-Bulletin did catch a few new subscribers. All of those things are a plus, but the main object is to keep you connected to this community. It looks like we may be on the right road.

Again, let us hear from you. If there is something you would like to know about or if you would like to share a remembrance, drop us a line. (If you want to correct the tall tales at the coffee shop, you are on your own. No way am I calling any of those guys liars!)
