Weekend happenings for Ronnie and Patti Gaines began Friday evening when they picked up her mother, Esther Highfill, at Shiloh Manor in Canton, then traveled to Galva to enjoy supper with Kenny and Roma Koehn. Saturday, they completed work for Ronnie's mother, Maude Gaines, and had dinner with her. Dusty Gaines was a Sunday dinner guest.
Kayme Voelker, Alyson and Abby of Nixa, Mo., arrived Friday at the home of Al, Bonnie, and Shelby Plummer. Bonnie brought Austin Bidwell home with her Friday evening so the cousins could enjoy their spring break. Grandpa Al took Austin back to his home Monday morning in El Dorado. Bonnie and Kayme and girls left for Norton to spend some time with Bonnie's mother, Florence Lambert. They returned home Tuesday.
Bonnie and Kayme and girls went to Cottonwood Falls Saturday afternoon to attend a baby shower for Stephanie Griffin Mackey, who lives at Burrton. Stephanie and Kayme are longtime friends.
The Eden Mennonite Church had a farewell supper for Lee and Betty Koehn, who are moving to Kidron, Ohio. Several community families attended.
Joyce Kyle went to Wichita Wednesday to visit sisters-in-law, Evelyn Beard and Phyllis Nedeau. En route home she called on Ike Clark at WheatState Manor in Whitewater. In the evening, Joyce, Mack, and Shayla Clark and Hadlye were supper guests of Marie Clark. All enjoyed corned beef and cabbage.
Marie Clark and Joyce went to the Burns Community Building Thursday evening for the "Rooster Walk" presentation by Barbara Anderson and Sandy Heyman. It was very interesting.
Kathleen Brenzikofer, Evelyn Sidener, and Joyce Kyle went Friday to Tampa to the Marion County senior citizens' board meeting.
