News from Legacy Park

Legacy Park residents enjoyed a visit in May by Dr. Skinner and her animal friends. She brought turtles, snakes, kittens, dogs, a baby possum, and an owl.

The balloon launch in celebration of National Nursing Home Week was a colorful site in the sky as the balloons blew off to the north.

Arlene Williams brought a quilt display one afternoon. It stirred conversations about quilts that Grandma and Mama used to make, along with memories about making quilts for children and grandchildren.

The meditation garden has a family of turtles that is a topic for conversation in the residential unit. Rumor is they will be multiplying.

Even though the hail a few weeks ago took its toll, many of the flowers are coming back. The vegetable garden on the patio at the Alzheimer unit is bouncing back as well.

Several residents went on a Memorial Day outing to the cemetery.

Legacy recently has launched a "home again" program for individuals who need a short-term stay to prepare for returning home following a surgery, illness, or injury. For more information about this program, contact us.

The community is invited to join us Friday for a hog roast with all the trimmings. Serving begins at 6 p.m. We have musical entertainment and a clown to brighten the evening. We hope the weather will allow us to have this outdoors. Shirley Davis, certified massage therapist, will offer free chair massages inside the building.

Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy an evening of fun with friends and community members.
