Myrtle Glass

Myrtle A. Glass, 80, Newton, died July 12, 2003, at Newton Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 4, 1922, at Rankin, Okla., the daughter of the late Benton Franklin and Maude Emmaline (James) Scrivner.

She married Alfred D. Glass Jan. 30, 1944, at Elbing. He died April 11, 1974.

A member of the First Church of the Nazarene, she worked in manufacturing and enjoyed traveling, fishing, and her family.

Survivors include sons Phillip of Newton and Alex of Lakeland, Fla.; daughters Wanda Platt of Newton and Barbara Raner of Peabody; brothers James Scrivner of Leedy, Texas, and Donald Scrivner of Amarillo, Texas; sister Orma West of Burnette, Texas; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

Services were held today, Wednesday, at First Nazarene Church, Newton, with burial in Restlawn Gardens of Memory, Newton.

A memorial fund has been established in her name at the church.
