Morgan named athlete of the year

Larry, Dee, and Steven Morgan attended the athletic banquet at PBHS Monday evening. Congratulations to Steven on being chosen "Athlete of the Year."

Marvin and Sherol Nightengale attended the baptism and confirmation of their grandchildren, Roger and Laura Nightengale, Sunday morning at the Trinity United Methodist Church in El Dorado. Norma and Leroy Riggs of Marion were Sunday afternoon callers.

Lawrence and Lois Sayers attended the funeral on Friday of a friend, Dennis Hall, at Kingman.

Vernon and Florine Koehn and Arnold and Naomi Koehn spent the weekend in Missouri at a mission post. They returned home Monday afternoon.

Evelyn Sidener, Kathleen Brenzikofer, and Joyce Kyle attended a CSA meeting Tuesday in Junction City. In the evening, Joyce was a guest in the home of Mary Langenegger for a birthday supper in honor of Emily Langenegger. Other guests were Gary Langenegger, Glenn and Daytha Langenegger, Amber and Laura, and Daniel Unruh. It also was Daytha's birthday.

The Burns Path group and a guest went to Newton Wednesday afternoon to view the Smithsonian exhibit at the Harvey County Museum. They also toured the Warkentine Home and visited Braums. Attending were Ed Grimwood, Albert Gustainis, Lee and Evelyn Sidener, Laverna Parrish, Irene Elisha, Nadine Vestring, Kathleen Brenzikofer, and Joyce Kyle.

Kathleen Brenzikofer, Evelyn Sidener, Laverna Parrish, and Joyce Kyle attended the Marion County Senior Citizens board meeting at Ramona Friday.

Callers of Joyce Kyle on Saturday were Emily Langenegger and Lawrence and Lois Sayers.

Twenty-seven members and guests of the First Mennonite Church senior citizens met at the Burns Café for a delicious supper and fellowship. Seniors came from Derby, Elbing, Newton, Peabody, and Burns. A great time was had by all.
