Molly Holub on road to recovery
After successful surgery on Monday, U.S. Army Spec. Molly Holub should be able to come home this weekend.
According to her father Dan Holub, Molly's left eye was removed and surgeons did not find any other injuries. Fractures to her face also are healing well, Holub said.
She will be examined Thursday and Holub expects his daughter to be released. Dan Holub plans to return to Marion Thursday. Molly and her brother Chris will return by the weekend.
Molly, a member of Headquarters Company, 3rd Special Troop Battalion, 4th Infantry Division, was wounded Sept. 5, when an explosive device was activated and shrapnel hit her as she was riding in a vehicle north of Baghdad. She was flown to a hospital in Germany and then to Washington, D.C.
She is a 2004 Marion High School graduate and the daughter of Dan and Rhonda Holub, rural Marion.
