Milton: Sayers attend gathering of friends, family

Lawrence and Lois Sayers, Sandy Sayers of El Dorado, and Bruce Sayers went to Benton Saturday for the Fraley family reunion. They met old friends, Dean and Jo Fraley of Fayetteville, Ark., their son Terry Fraley and wife of Florida, and their daughter Pat Arnole and daughter of Fayetteville. The enjoyed reliving old times.

Laura and Casey Nightengale of El Dorado were Friday overnight and Saturday morning guests of their grandparents, Marvin and Sherol Nightengale. They joined their father, Brad Nightengale, for lunch Saturday at the Burns Café and returned home with him.

Lawrence and Lois Sayers had lunch in Burden Sunday and visited Lois' aunt, Ermal Bolack, then drove on to Winfield to visit another aunt, Treva Skinner.

Kathleen Brenzikofer and Joyce Kyle joined others in Marion and Hillsboro Thursday evening and went on to the Water's Edge Restaurant in Hesston to attend the Hospice Donor Appreciation dinner.

Sunday dinner guests of Jerry and Donna Nichols were Luke and Esther Weaver of Fleetwood, Pa., and Nathan and Ella Koehn. Afternoon callers were Vernon and Florine Koehn.

Al, Bonnie, and Shelby Plummer had a very exciting weekend. Arriving at their home Friday evening were Kayme and Martin Voelker, Alyson and Abbie of Nixa, Mo., Richard and Deby Lambert of Trenton, Neb., and their son and family, Kevin and Tracy Lambert and Cody of Oxford, Neb. Other family members arrived Saturday to help their mother, Florence Lambert of Norton celebrate her 90th birthday. Attending were Joe Lambert of Norton, who brought his mother to the Plummer home, Doug and Vicky Lambert, Gary and Jody Smith and Logan of Murray, Ky., Larry Lambert and Doris Garten of Valley Center, Cliff and Glenna Lambert of El Paso, Texas, Steve and Lisa Garten and Todd Plummer of Rose Hill, Mike and Janelle Garten of Spivey, Stan and Glenna Garten and Brady of Pawhuska, Okla., Kay Lambert and Lary Rudloff of Wakarusa, and Jeremy and Hayley Bidwell, Austin, Draven, and Aiden of El Dorado. The Voelkers returned to their home Sunday morning.

Attending the senior recognition supper Wednesday evening at Burns United Methodist Church were Al, Bonnie, and Shelby Plummer, Larry, Dee, and Steven Morgan, and Joyce Kyle. Many others from the Burns area attended. Ray Davidson entertained the crowd.

Larry, Dee, and Steven Morgan attended the FFA banquet at Peabody Monday evening. They went to Hutchinson Saturday to the home of Joe and Joetta Mielke to help their son, Robert Mielke, celebrate his birthday.

Don and Laverna Parrish, Kathleen Brenzikofer, and Joyce Kyle went to Tabor Church near Goessel to attend the Hospice Volunteer Appreciation ice cream social.

Evelyn Sidener and Joyce Kyle joined others in Marion Tuesday morning and went to Salina for a SHICK update meeting. Joyce and LaVonne Ammeter and Lawrence and Lois Sayers were Tuesday evening guests of the Bruce Sayers to help Megan celebrate her birthday.

Sandy Sayers of El Dorado, Lois Sayers, Joyce Kyle, Mary Archer, Esther and Amanda Archer of Cottonwood Falls, all went to Emporia Thursday evening for a Taste of Home Cooking Show. Margaret McCutcheon conducted the presentation and demonstrated nine recipes. It was an educational and fun time. There were 20 winners of large grocery bags of assorted groceries and I was a winner.

Joyce Kyle was a Sunday dinner guest of Kathleen Brenzikofer. In the afternoon we attended the open house for Dave and Marti Nellans at their new home. We called on Wanda Van Tuyl and her daughter, Rosemary Carnahan of Virginia. We were glad to see Wanda back home. In the evening, we attended the Mexican supper at Burns United Methodist Church.

Tuesday evening guests of Luana Isaac to help Jan celebrate her birthday were Renferd and Wanda Koehn, Lonnie, Dalen, and Carolee, Vernon and Florine Kohen and Judy, and Kevin and Jan Jantz, Kaylee and Shauna.

Renferd and Wanda Koehn, Lonnie, Dalen, and Carolee called on his parents, Nathan and Ella Koehn, Friday evening.
