Milton news: Writer attends open house at Peabody Elementary School

This week is Labor Day week but last week was "run around week." Joyce Kyle accompanied Lawrence and Lois Sayers and Bruce Sayers, Megan and Jessica Monday evening to Peabody to the elementary school open house. She took Kathleen Brenzikofer to the doctor Tuesday at Newton.
Marvin and Sherol Nightengale went to Abilene Thursday to watch Roger and Laura Nightengale run in cross country. They both did well.
Burns UMW, Lucille Robinson, Beverly Morgan, Evelyn Sidener, Esta Hall, Kathleen Brenzikofer, Laverna Parrish, and Joyce Kyle went Thursday to tour the Dyck Arboretum at Hesston. They had lunch at Water's Edge and went to the home of Reva Goodwin at Moundridge. Ethel Helmer joined them.
Pat and Mary Zogelman of Florence hosted a going away party Saturday evening for their daughter Krista who left Tuesday for Spain where she will be attending school this year. Joyce Kyle joined other friends and relatives to wish her well.
Mary Langenegger's guests for dinner Sunday were Pastor Arlen Busenitz, Mike Estrada, Greg and Zeola Langenegger, and Joyce Kyle. Later in the afternoon Mary and Joyce accompanied Greg and Zeola to the home of her sister, Roma Becker, at Hillsboro for an afternoon and evening of eating, visiting, and a musical get-together.
Joyce Kyle received word Sunday evening that Betty Kyle was taken to Newton Medical Center for surgery. We wish her well.
Esther Nelson died. Her funeral is Wednesday. Remember all in your prayers.
Judy Koehn attended a dog auction Saturday at Wheaton, Mo.
Bruce Sayers, Megan and Jessica left Friday afternoon for Holt Summit, Mo., to visit Donald and Sarah Hunt and Taylor. They returned home Sunday evening.
Sandy Sayers of El Dorado came to the home of her parents, Lawrence and Lois Sayers, Saturday morning and helped do some things around the home. She returned home Sunday evening. Tara Sayers, granddaughter of Lawrence and Lois, of Colorado Springs, Co., was a Sunday afternoon visitor.
