Milton: Highfill honored with birthday dinner

Ronnie and Patti Gaines hosted a birthday dinner on Sunday for her mother, Esther Highfill. Guests were Dusty Gaines of Newton, Ty and Kim Gaines of Emporia, Kenny and Roma Koehn of Galva, and Jeff and Jill Koehn of Hutchinson.

Marvin and Sherol Nightengale went to the home of Brad and Diane Nightengale, Roger, Laura, and Casey in El Dorado Monday evening to help Casey celebrate his birthday. They attended the senior citizens soup supper Saturday evening in Burns. On Sunday, they went to the 60th wedding anniversary dinner for Ike and Marie Clark at the community building in Burns.

Laura and Casey Nightengale of El Dorado came to the home of their grandparents, the Marvin Nightengales, Sunday afternoon and were overnight guests, returning home on Monday.

Bruce and Sheila Sayers, Sara, Devon, Megan, and Jessica went to Winfield Sunday to attend the celebration of the 85th birthday of Bruce's great-aunt, Treva Skinner.

Vernon Koehn left Jan. 25 for Belleville, Pa. Florine joined him Feb. 7. On the 8th, they went to Mifflinburg, Pa., to visit their daughter and family, Willie and Cathy Bender, Mike, Mark, Daryl, Timothy, and Weldon. They returned home Friday evening. They were met at the airport by Judy Koehn, Renferd and Wanda Koehn, Lonnie, Dalen, and Carolee, and Kevin and Janaro Jantz, Kayla and Shauna. Vernon treated them all to supper before going home.

Ed Grimwood, Kathleen Brenzikofer, and Joyce Kyle attended the Marion County Senior Citizens board meeting Friday in Florence.

Bert Zogelman and Joyce Kyle went to Marion Thursday, then back to Florence for lunch at the Chuck Wagon.

The community extends its sympathy to the Vernon Nonken family.
