Memorial service honors Beverly Noel

Beverly Jean Niccolls Noel was honored April 17 at a committal service at Prairie Lawn Cemetery.

Born Sept. 15, 1928, she was the daughter of Leo and Lura Niccolls. She attended 12 years of school in Peabody and graduated in 1946 from Peabody High School.

She married Lee Noel and spent most of her married life in the St. Louis, Mo., area. When her health began to fail, they moved to California to be near one of their daughters. She had Alzheimer's disease.

She died Jan. 12, 2004.

Her three daughters, husband, and others paid tribute to Noel as her granddaughters released red, white, and blue balloons into the Kansas wind.

After the service, everyone gathered at the Marion home of Earlene Hague where she and Jackie Hett provided lunch.

Those attending were Lee Noel and Jan Uder of San Luis Obispo, Calif., Bob and Beth Leicht, Emmalee and Kathryn of Hannibal, Mo., Caroline Grantham, Angie and Amanda of Eagan, Minn., Linda DuBois of Encinitas, Calif., Dean and Delores Heibert of Towanda, Irvin and Maxine Ulsh and Rozella Warkentine Warhurst of Newton, and Virgil and Evelyn Obermeyer and Marvin and Thelma Warkentine of Peabody.
