Memorial Day service set for Prairie Lawn
Members of American Legion Post 95 and Elmer S. Madsen VFW Post 6229, post auxiliaries and Sons of the American Legion will present Memorial Day services at Prairie Lawn Cemetery at 10 a.m. Monday.
The posts will be assisted by the Peabody Girl Scouts and Cub Scout troops and the 8th Kansas Volunteer Infantry, a Civil War re-enactment group.
Peabody-Burns High School band will provide music for the event with a rendition of "Amazing Grace" and "Taps."
First Christian Church minister the Rev. Jim Pohlman will offer the invocation, memorial address, and benediction.
At 10:30 a.m. vintage airplanes will perform a fly-over.
