Meeting will review strategic plan
You are invited to attend a public meeting at 6 p.m. Monday in the city building to review the strategic plan of the Peabody City Council.
The strategic plan is a project that the city council and Peabody Main Street have partnered to develop. The project has been possible through a grant from the Community Capacity Building Program through the Kansas Department of Commerce.
Included in the plan is a list of future goals and projects. Upon adoption of the strategic plan, the city council will pursue ways to fund various projects. Some of the goals include enhancing the appearance and promoting the city's historical designation, creating an activities center that serves various community needs, and developing economic development through expansion of industrial and commercial employment base, marketing, and housing.
The strategic plan includes drawings, cost estimates, tasks, and timelines. It is intended to serve as a road map for future projects; it is not the final plan of any of the above projects.
For more information or to view a copy of the plan before the meeting, contact Joanna Brazil at the city building, 983-2174 or email pmsa@peabody ks.com.
