Maxine Dain
Maxine Foster Dain, 79, died May 10, 2003, at Wheat State Manor, Whitewater.
Born Jan. 22, 1924, at Whitewater, she was the daughter of L.S. "Red" and Edith Mae (Schreffler) Foster.
She attended Whitewater schools and graduated from Whitewater High School in 1941.
On Oct. 19, 1946, she married Richard Dain at Caldwell. He died in 1982.
A retired sales clerk and homemaker, she was a member of the Federated Church of Whitewater.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one sister.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Dain of Edmond, Okla., and Pat Dain of Wichita; a daughter, Katie Oller of Andover; two sisters, Mildred Whitson of Benton and Marge Yarbrough of Whitewater; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bob Lamb Funeral Home, Whitewater, with Pastor Dan March officiating. Burial was in Whitewater Cemetery.
Memorial funds have been established with Wheat State Manor and Hospice of Kansas.
