Maxine Curry

Phyllis Maxine Curry, 83, died Jan. 27, 2005, at Kansas Christian Home, Newton.

Born Nov. 27, 1921, at Eva, Okla., she was the daughter of Robert and Lola (McCoy) Niccum.

On Sept. 19, 1943, she married Raymond Curry at Amarillo, Texas. He died in 2000.

She was a pastor's wife and homemaker, actively involved in all aspects of the churches her husband served. She was a member of Eastside United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, four sisters, and three brothers.

Survivors include two daughters, Anita Curry of Wichita and Carolyn Liggenstoffer of Kiowa; two brothers, Ira Niccum of Kirksville, Mo., and Ray Dean Niccum of Longview, Texas; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday morning at Eastside United Methodist Church, Newton, with the Rev. Ray Swearinger officiating.

Burial was in Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery, Bushton.
