Maurice Crawford

Maurice J. Crawford, 85, died Feb. 26, 2004, in Fayetteville, Ga.

He was born Aug. 29, 1918, in Severy.

On July 6, 1941 he married Betty Patricia Carr in Wichita.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was wounded. He received a Purple Heart and a Silver Star for his actions. He was a member of the VFW.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, and two brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Betty of Fayetteville, Ga.; one son, Russell and wife Donna of Peachtree City, Ga.; three daughters, Christine and husband Ken Jones of Wichita, Elizabeth and husband Charles Bennett of Carrabelle, Fla., and Patti and husband Steve Phillips of Fayetteville, Ga.; a brother, Warren Crawford of Sapulpa, Okla.; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Feb. 28 at the Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peachtree City, Ga., with Pastor John Weber officiating.
