Mary Patry
Mary Eloise Patry, 85, died June 24, 2002, at St. Luke Hospital, Marion.
Born June 26, 1916, near Peabody, she was the daughter of Alfred and Nellie (Erion) Burgat. She was raised in the Peabody community and graduated from Peabody High School.
On Feb. 19, 1941, she was married to Albert Patry at Burns. For most of their years the family made their home at Florence. Mary worked as a nurse and a certified medical aide at Regency Health Care, Florence.
The couple had four children, three sons and one daughter. They were members of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Florence, and later Holy Family Catholic Church of Marion.
Following retirement, Albert and Mary moved to Marion and were living at Marion Manor at the time of her death.
She is survived by her husband, Albert; sons, Don of Whitewater, Doug of Wellington, and Charles of Horton; daughter, Anne Cyr of McPherson; sister Dorothy Hanneman of Peabody; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two step grandchildren.
Funeral Mass was Thursday morning at Holy Family Catholic Church, Marion. Fr. Michael Nolan was the celebrant, Matt Classen the lector, vocalist was Mary Griffith, and organist was Charlene Svitak. Ed Sandwell served as usher, servers were Louis Holt, Laura Holt, and Emily Svoboda.
Casket bearers were Jim Cyr, John Hanneman, Lou Wegerer, C.R. Wegerer, Corey Patry, and Brandon Patry. Burial was in the St. Mark's section of Marion Cemetery. Memorials were requested for the church.
