Mary Ellen Marshall
Mary Ellen (Sanders) Marshall, of Arkansas City, died May 14, 2007, at Presbyterian Manor, Arkansas City.
Mary was born in Pulaski County, Arkansas, July 13, 1912, to John Henry Campbell and Sarah Ellen Simmons. She was reared and educated in Morrelton, Ark.
Mary was owner and operator of Sun Beam Restaurant in Arkansas City for many years. She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include one son, William R. Sanders and his wife, Jean, of Wichita; two daughters, Bonnie Martin and her husband, Glen, of Arkansas City; Novelle Keyes, of Arkansas City; one stepson, Bob Marshall and his wife, Susan, of Peabody; one stepdaughter, Elsie Kay Marshall, of Arkansas City; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, eight brothers, and four sisters.
Funeral services were held at for 2 p.m. Friday at Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home in Arkansas City, with the Reverend H. Dean LaVelle officiating. Interment followed in Ozro Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the American Alzheimer's Association.
